Some weddings stand out for their scale and spectacle. Others, like this LGBT wedding in Costa Rica, stay with you because of the emotion present in every moment. Michela and Charity’s celebration at Casa Puros Dieces was one of those occasions when love became the true heart of the day.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of Tamarindo, they chose to celebrate an intimate, elegant and deeply personal wedding. Away from large crowds, they shared the day with the people who mattered most, creating an atmosphere that felt warm, relaxed and full of meaning.
I was already familiar with Casa Puros Dieces from Jamie & Greg’s wedding, so I knew we would enjoy an intimate ceremony accompanied by a breathtaking sunset from its upper terrace.
From the preparations to the final embrace of the evening, every detail reflected Michela and Charity’s personalities and the story they have built together. Their connection was unmistakable—the kind that needs no grand gestures to be seen. A smile, a gentle touch or a knowing glance was enough to reveal the depth of their love.
The ceremony was heartfelt and sincere. Every word carried truth, shared memories and dreams for the future. There were tears of happiness, spontaneous laughter and countless moments that will remain with everyone fortunate enough to have witnessed them.
Documenting an LGBT Wedding in Costa Rica
As their photographer, it was a privilege to document such an authentic story. My aim is always to capture genuine emotion, and throughout this wedding every photograph emerged naturally. Nothing needed to be staged: their love, trust and connection gave every image its meaning.
This celebration at Casa Puros Dieces showed that the most memorable weddings are not defined by their size, but by the depth of the feelings being shared. It was an elegant, intimate and beautiful wedding in which two women chose to begin a new chapter surrounded by love, respect and happiness.
