Amid the tropical light, warm breeze and unhurried rhythm of Costa Rica, two stories found the same path. Freya and Cesar’s wedding in Puntarenas brought together two countries, two cultures and the most important people in their lives beside the Pacific Ocean.

In El Roble, just outside the city of Puntarenas, the resort then operating as DoubleTree by Hilton became the setting for an intimate, elegant and deeply genuine wedding. No forced poses or pretence. Only honest emotions documented exactly as they unfolded.

Our documentary approach allowed us to tell the story from within: observing, feeling and preserving every detail naturally. Weddings are remembered not only for how they looked, but for how they felt.

A Wedding in Puntarenas Bringing Two Cultures Together

Freya, from Belgium, and Cesar, from Colombia, joined their lives in this small and beautiful Central American country. The hotel provided the perfect retreat for family and friends who had travelled from different parts of the world.

The morning began with soft light filtering through the palm trees and tropical gardens. Birdsong, the warm humidity and the ocean in the distance gave texture and atmosphere to every moment.

The ceremony took place beside the sea, on the coast of El Roble and beside the Gulf of Nicoya. Earlier that day, dozens of children had played on the beach and used the piers as diving platforms. Later, that same everyday landscape became the setting for a celebration filled with emotion, connection and shared memories.

Getting married in Costa Rica is not simply about choosing a destination. It means experiencing a place where nature, calm and emotion exist side by side.
